| It's been forever and a minute since I have updated this. Well over a month. But now that I am home for a few weeks I can take time to add some words. November was a crazy month. Montreal 2k5 was very interesting. The Quebecoise do not like Americans. My boys got into an altercation both nights in Canada but held their own. I just wish that my last Canada trip as an undergraduate student didn't turn out so bad. But nonetheless I will be back next year. Its traditiom. I just hope that everyone else feels the same after all the drama that we went through from fighting at the clubs to fighting at the hotel. Other than that the month of November was ok. A lot of work and stuff at school and as always some good partying. I went home for Thanksgiving and chilled with the fam. It was cool being back since I haven't seen my family since Labor Day Weekend. The food was good and the time was fun at home.
December was kinda stressful. My grandmother in Florida suffered a stroke the first weekend of the month. I actually found out the same time that I was at the Alpha Phi Alpha founder's day party. Its been a slow recovery for her. We thought that she was not going to pull through it for a while. At one point she loss the ability to talk, but she has since regained her speech and is slowly making a great recovery. God is good!
My winter conert was interesting. It was the same night that the mini-blizzard struck Boston. But the music must still go on. Voices Of Imani still did their thing and the crowd wasn't that bad considering how crazy the weather was.
Other than all of that I have been practcing for a fashion show in April. i am very excited about this. It fills an urge that I have. So it should be cool. I have to send my love to all the black college heads that became Greeks this semester. Especially my BC people. Who knows maybe I might become one eventually... | | |
| senior year is so much fun. Even though it is going by too fast for me to truly grasp, I am still living it up like its 1999 in this place. The past few weekends have been cool. Albeit a lot of rain. But that doesnt stop us from getting it popping...early....last weekend was the Cape Verdean Party on friday and the phi iota alpha party at BU on saturday. Great events by all. We had a blast. This weekend is equally busy...Voices Fall Concert on Friday and the CCC Camoflage party on Friday as well...then saturday the ice cold brothers of alpha phi alpha are throwing a party at BU...should be good...overall its been a good october...i know the rest of the months are gonna be equally so....on the women front...they confuse me....nothing more to say...lol | | |
| Busy past few weeks. School is school. A lot of work and a lot of stuff that I need to do on the various fronts that I have. Between applying for jobs, and making sure that I do all the jobs that I have within the various student groups that I serve on campus, I have been a busy guy. But I love everything that I do and wouldnt change anything for the world. I have been meeting some amazing freshmen over the past few weeks. I see much hope in this class. I just have to make sure that I mold them in the right way...lol...On other fronts I have been getting ready for some ill events. Montreal is coming up in a month. Its gonna be crazy. Its always an insane weekend. Mad West Indians acting the fool in Canada. YAY! And the Caribbean Culture Club at Boston College is throwing a Camouflage Party at the end of October. It should be pretty fun. On the women front. Nothing to update on really. Which may be a good or bad thing....lol | | |
| Its been a minute since I blessed this....but I had to put something in about this fun weekend.... So this weekend at BC was our ALC Boat Cruise. It took a lot of publicizing on the PR front which is kinda why I haven't written in so long. But damn was it worth it. I woke up Friday morning, did the class thing, picked up my cleaning and came back to my room. Since I had bus duty i knew that I couldn't drink too much, so i got drunk....early. By 6pm I was good. Got my outfit on, black slacks, back shoes, black button-up, red tie, white blazer and the piece d'etre, my red and white yankee fitted with a trini flag out of my back pocket. I was right. So I did bus loading from like 830-10 and then headed down to Boston Harbor. Once I got there I knew the night was going to be special. I was on VIP status, walking up an down the line, getting love and giving it to my many friends who were waiting. It was cool. Then I boarded the boat. Crazyness!!! Straight wildness from jump. It was a mix of passa-passa meets semi-formal. Can you imagine people doing the willy-bounce and wacky-dip in suits and dresses. The surrealism in that baffles me frankly. I danced the night away. A certain young woman in a short red dress kept me going some of the night. Boy how I love the color red on a woman!!! The combination of everyone on the boat dancing and sweating in a huge crowd on the main floor added a certain element to it all that kind of had the whole boat intoxicated on that natural high!!! She was a handful on the dancefloor, but i manned up and held my own. It was a great evening in general. Maybe too great because a lot of people apparently have footage of me living it up....Ah well..But as we docked i realize that these are the kinds of memories that I want to have as a senior. ALC Boat Cruise 2k5....Major!!!! | | |
| Labor Day Weekend was fuckin bananas!!!! So i arrived at school on the 29th and did my duties till Friday the 2nd. I promised everyone that that was my limit. When that Friday came, I was eager to do my piece and be out. Come 4pm I was. As I sat on the bus, I called up Warren to find out what was the move for that night. Cause in no way was I trooping back to New York to sit in my house on Labor Day Friday. We agreed that Webster Hall was the spot for the evening. I arrived home and got dressed in literally fifteen minutes....threw on a lavendar shirt, a matching tie, some jeans, my dress shoes and threw my trini flag in my pocket and it was a go!!! The club was good and the DJ kept it popping with the soca and dancehall, but Warren and I both knew that it was a tuneup for Saturday night. Saturday night Warren and I got our shit together, your boy Akim had on his white blazer, white linen pants, red button-up, red-black-and white pro-keds, a new red and white yankee fitted and my flag. I was trini to the fuckin bone yes!!! Brass and Glow was ridculous. Every artist that I wanted to hear was pretty much in attendance. The women were amazing. I saw some outfits that made me proud to be West Indian indeed. i think someone had on underwear and a wifebeater. It was great. They were giving out beer "samples", which really were entire bottles in a cup. Warren and I partied till damn near 4:30 in the morning. Amazing!! Sunday was a chill day. Went to a family barbecue and then came back for the annual "Jump-Up to J'Ouvert bash that my neighbors have every year. Unfortunately Warren couldn't make it. He was sick from the lack of sleep we were indulging in for the past few nights. So he stayed home and recharged his batteries for Monday's parade. I had fun. Drank, chilled, and went to sleep at around 4am again. Monday came the bacchanal!!!!! Eastern Parkway was fuckin ridiculous this year. I called Warren up at around 11am or so to tell him it was time. We all knew what I meant. Warren arrived at President Street at around 1pm with this cutie named Krystle from San Diego that attends Stanford with him. She was a part of our crew for the day. She was such a trooper. She kept up, didnt lag behind and was great to have on board. As we marched through the streets we had too much fun. When Iwer George's song "Water" came on, it was a misunderstanding. We were in the middle of a trini band and the song came on. Literally hundreds of full water bottles went up in the air and sprayed the entire crowd. It was crazy!!! At one point I got lost in the Grenadian band. They were misbehaving. Who happens to find me and grab me up. Krystle. From that point on which spanned a good two hours, we danced the entire way up Eastern Parkway, non-stop. She doesn't tire. I was like shit. You lucky you live in CA. As night fell the crew ended up walking to the train and I said my goodbyes to Warren and Krystle. No doubt in my mind that next year the three of us will link up and do it bigger and better than this year. We even talked about expanding the crew and even playing mas next year.....crazy!!!!!!! What de people want....WATER!!!!
